Our Origin & Legacy - PTM Academy is built upon the foundational framework of the original BR2C - Training Center for Specialized Logistics (TCSL). From its inception, in 2004, TCSL was designed with a singular, tactical mission: to train logisticians to support the warfighter and resolve critical specialized skill shortages for government personnel and DOD contractors.
The Strategic Evolution - As the needs of the North and East Alabama defense industrial base evolved, so did our curriculum. We expanded our foundational logistics courses—which originally focused heavily on Item Management, Provisioning, and Maintenance Engineering —to encompass the full spectrum of modern federal contracting, including proposal management and supply chain risk.
Today, we operate the Alabama Institute for Strategic Readiness & Logistics (AISRL) as our premier training division. While our foundational non-profit legal name remains, our operational trade name—PTM Academy—stands firmly at the forefront of defense workforce development.
Executive Leadership & Expertise - PTM Academy is a veteran-led organization built on real-world tactical and federal procurement experience. Our curriculum is driven by executive leadership with over 22 years of specialized expertise in federal contracting, grant management, and technical proposal development.
Drawing from the direct experience of her Army officer, maintenance management training and a civil service Logistics Team Lead managing provisioning and maintenance engineering, our training is not just academic—it is operational. We understand the stringent demands of the Uniform Contract Format, the complexities of the defense supply chain, and the exact skills prime contractors need to execute their missions successfully.

Our instructional team consists of seasoned military veterans, logistics specialists, active federal executives who operate daily within the Department of Defense (DoD) industrial corridor.
Beverly Rodriguez, M.Ed. Lead Project Director
Founder and CEO, Beverly Rodriguez, M.Ed., is a U.S. Army veteran, accomplished educator, and founder with more than 35 years of experience spanning federal contracting, defense logistics, workforce development, and adult education. She is recognized as a Demonstrated Master Logistician (DML) by SOLE - The International Society of Logistics for her demonstrated knowledge and competence in the field of Logistics. Beverly's career began with rigorous technical training at the US Army Ordnance School Maintenance Management Officer Course at Aberdeen Proving Ground and then to the US Army Materiel Command School of Engineering and Logistics at Red River Army Depot. She later served as a Logistics and Maintenance Engineer Team Lead at Redstone Arsenal, where she supported complex defense systems and gained extensive experience in maintenance engineering, provisioning, item management, and lifecycle logistics.
Throughout her career, Beverly has translated this technical and contracting expertise into practical, career-focused education. She has designed and delivered highly regarded training in provisioning, maintenance engineering, item management, federal contracting, and RFP proposal development. Elements of her curriculum have been adopted by government contractors, universities, and military organizations, reflecting the relevance and real-world value of her instructional approach.
Beverly also brings substantial business-development experience, including work that contributed to securing nearly $90 million in federal contracts. As a founder and instructor, she combines industry knowledge, classroom experience, and a deep understanding of government procurement to help students build marketable skills, navigate complex federal processes, and prepare for meaningful careers across the defense industrial base.
A strong proponent of training, Beverly believes learning is not merely academic—it is operational. Yet she also recognizes that genuine readiness requires more than technical memorization; it requires humanity. Under her leadership, PTM Academy balances rigorous professional expectations with genuine compassion and a deep passion for developing others.

Micki, Senior Instructor, Federal Proposal & Technical Writing
Micki Diesel, MBA, CSSBB, is a Shipley-trained federal proposal management, technical writing, and pricing professional with more than 15 years of experience leading full-lifecycle capture and proposal efforts across the defense and federal civilian sectors. As a Proposal Manager, Technical/Past Performance “Book Boss,” Lead Technical Writer, and Price Proposal Manager, she has led corporate, subcontractor, and subject matter expert teams pursuing high-stakes contracts for the Department of Defense—including the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Coast Guard—as well as the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Her notable wins include spearheading the four-phase capture of a $2 billion Blanket Purchase Agreement and leading 13 consecutive federal task order wins.
Mrs. Diesel specializes in solicitation deconstruction, compliance architecture, solution development, and Price-to-Win strategy. Her multi-volume expertise spans Base Operations Support Services, weapon systems engineering, ship maintenance, cybersecurity, emerging information technology, and training delivery. She chairs Blue, Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews; directs rapid-response Tiger Teams; translates engineering interviews into evaluator-focused narratives and graphic concepts; develops federal Quality Control Plans; and builds defensible cost and labor-estimating models.
At PTM Academy, Ms. Diesel combines her corporate Shipley trainer background with practical, mentorship-driven instruction. She guides adult learners in analyzing live federal RFPs, building cross-referenced compliance matrices, and drafting persuasive Technical, Management, Past Performance, and Cost volumes. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The College of William & Mary, as well as Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and ISO 9001:2008 Certified Lead Quality Auditor credentials.
Kevin Lewis, Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) | Senior Technical Instructor
Kevin is a Senior Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics Executive with 30+ years of leadership experience managing complex logistics, inventory, transportation, warehousing, procurement, and operational support functions within military and federal environments. Proven success leading enterprise-level supply chain operations, contractor oversight, ERP-driven logistics systems, inventory accountability, and cross-functional operational planning supporting multimillion-dollar assets and large-scale organizations. Extensive experience developing
high-performing teams, driving operational efficiency, improving workflow execution, and supporting mission critical operations in high-pressure environments. He is certified in GCSS-Army, Demonstrated Senior Logistician (DSL), and Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE).
Our Integrated Product Support Instructor is an experienced logistics and Integrated Product Support (IPS) professional who supports Department of Defense systems throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.
Areas of expertise include provisioning, logistics product data, Product Support Analysis (PSA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), maintenance planning, supply support, and lifecycle sustainment. Drawing on extensive work with engineering and logistics data, the instructor translates complex technical information into practical support solutions and clear, accessible instruction.
This instructor also brings experience in maintenance engineering and maintenance-task analysis, applying Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and reliability, maintainability, and supportability principles to evaluate maintenance requirements, repair-level decisions, task frequency, resource needs, and system-support strategies. This expertise helps connect equipment design and performance data with practical maintenance concepts that improve readiness, availability, and lifecycle support.
